Fact Checking the London March Against Monsanto Protesters – Liz O’Neill of GM-Freeze
Earlier in the year, thanks to the wonderful people who have been supporting me thought patreon, I was able to take the train down to London to attend the annual March Against Monsanto (MAM) protest. Over the next few months, I plan to make a series of videos fact-checking some of the statements made by the protesters that allowed me to interview them, and those who gave speeches that day. I wanted to start on a high note with Liz O’Neil from GM-Freeze who, quite frankly, was a cut above the rest.

Hi
A small point but at 10:22 in the video you say the carcinogen class 2A refers to “possibly carcinogenic to humans”. If you read the snippet of the website you show it actually says “probably carcinogenic to humans”. Class 2B refers to “possibly”.
As someone who runs a skeptics in the pub group I am naturally sceptical. I have no bias one way or the other when it comes to GM, but am very aware how the words used affect perception. Was this unconscious bias on your part I wonder, or have I misunderstood?
All the best
Stuart

Hi Stuart, I bugged up my line. If you would like to see me take on the WHO report here is a 20 min video called “Is Glyphosate Probably carcinogenic to humans?” https://mylespower.co.uk/2015/12/03/is-glyphosate-probably-carcinogenic-to-humans-2/`
Here is a podcast on the subject https://mylespower.co.uk/2015/10/11/097-glyphosate-probably-doesnt-cause-cancer-the-league-of-nerds/
And here is where we talk about a conflict of interest in the IARC report https://mylespower.co.uk/2016/05/08/127-conflict-of-interest-in-iarc-report-the-league-of-nerds/
