The League of Nerds

Wind power, clean renewable energy, but is it efficient? There is evidence that ti has flaws but what about safe? A growing number of people are starting to believe that living in close proximity to wind turbine farms is causing medical issues. Who is to blame for these turbines well none other than the dirty Liberals.

  1. Great episode. Quick note, though: infrasound is no joke.
My office building happens to be next to a ship repair company, and they frequently get visits from enormous cargo ships that need maintainance to their onboard generators, which vibrate on the edge of perception for weeks on end. While probably not actively harmful, if you’re subjected to hours of can’t-tell-whether-it’s-a-loud-hum-or-my-desk-is-shaking, you tend to get the same tired headaches you get when your glasses need adjusting.
To be fair, ships right next door probably still don’t compare to a windmill a mile away (certainly not in terms of decibels – we’re in the triple digits on bad days), but don’t discount infrasound altogether, as even psychosomatic migraines hurt a lot.
