Trying Medical Quackery Sold on Amazon

I am the proud owner of a rather unusual collection of weird and wonderful examples of pseudoscientific products. Although I am sure most of you think that I am wasting my money on this bad-science-personified, the truth is I get an enormous sense of enjoyment from trying to understand the creator’s point of view and outlook on life. My collection ranges from the ridiculous, like my kitty chakra healing set, to the flat-out dangerous, like my copy of ‘The Case Against Condoms’ and ‘Control AIDS Thru Homoeopathy’. I am always on the lookout for the bizarre to add to my collection and recently, thanks to the people who support me on patreon, I went on a bit of a shopping spree on Amazon, where I picked up some bizarre examples of quackery.

I usually love your videos but this one pissed me off! Did you even research anything for this? It seems like you are running out of ideas and are looking for things that you dont personally understand and just calling them pseudoscience!

If you had even bothered to research light therapy before creating this video you’d realise that light is a wavelength so imagine this, if UV light can affect the skin through either burning or through DNA mutations then it stands to reason that other wavelengths of light can affect similar change in our skin as well. This is where light therapy comes in! Red light doesn’t “cure” acne again your lack of research astounds me! Blue light is actually used in hospitals by Dermatologists to treat a patient’s acne because blue light of 400-475nm is fantastic at killing bacteria, the blue light kills the propionibacterium acnes that causes the breakouts.
If that’s not enough proof for you, Blue light is also used in hospitals to sterilize against MRSA, it is also because of this reason that it is used to sometimes protect immunocompromised patients to keep them safe from these bugs.

There has been anecdotal evidence for years that red light can speed up healing time i came across a study recently that showed the used of red light therapy sped up the healing time of patients who had radioactive dermatitis https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/30419911
